About the Exhibitions in the Utunk Review

Summary/Abstract: Before 1989 Utunk, due to the lack of a professional art magazine in Romania, as the majority of Hungarian cultural publications, assumes the responsibility of promoting Hungarian arts in Romania. The reflections, notes on exhibitions appear frequently, and through them we can obtain an overall view on the evolution of art critics and the reflection period of the fine arts in Romania. The Utunk, a weekly published before 1989 in Cluj, covered the whole region in Romania where Hungarian people and artists lived. Thus on it’s pages we can follow the conformation of the artistic centers in Romania, like Targu Mures,Timisoara, Oradea, Baia Mare, Miercurea Ciuc, Sfântu Gheorghe.
