Summary/Abstract: The present work speaks about negotiating our cultural and linguistic identity. We leave in a world where everything is a subject for negotiation. We define the cultural identity as the whole of all manifestation of culture and civilization of a nation and the linguistic identity a means through which we express our cultural identity. We believe that in the modern world we have to be able to speak more than one language, but we first of all have to know very well our native language. Which are the risks for a nation to lose its own cultural and linguistic identity in a globalized world? Are the anglicisms a real threat/benefic for the linguistic identity of a nation?
