Summary/Abstract: This article explains some of the important issue of electronic signature. Discussed are the dynamic changes in the use of electronic signature, the introduction of its various types, as well as its significance and consequences under European Union legislation and as a consequence of Polish legislation, and its current legal status and context. Various types of electronic signatures are described, with a particular emphasis on qualified electronic signatures.
