Summary/Abstract: The paper highlightsthe main features of non-contradiction, as depicted in Aristotelian syllogistic framework,in an attempt to establish the nature of the relation that binds Aristotelian logicsand his ontology. J. Łukasiewicz’ understanding of the subject matter stands as a goodcase for showing how the original meaning of the formal nature of Aristotelian logiccan be misrepresented. An original point of view over the Aristotelian formalism whichrigorously tries to preserve the initial scope and the particularities of the classical-logicalforms of thinking – as a direct application to the significance of Aristotelian syllogism –can be found in the work of Al. Surdu, Teoria formelor logico-clasice [The Theory ofClassical Logical Forms]
