Summary/Abstract: The content of Aristotle’sCategories has been typically deemed to have a predominantly ontological import, andthe relationship between the logical level and the ontological one has been sometimesoverlooked in the analysis of the work. The brief examination of the categoriesundertaken in the present paper tries to highlight this relationship. Aristotle’s considerationsregarding the modes of opposition are one of the bridges that connect the two levels. The interpretations proposed by C. Noica and Al. Surdu to Aristotle’s Categoriesintegrate the two levels from a modern perspective that retains the meanings of theoriginal Aristotelian doctrine.
