ZAVNOBiH – SEVENTY YEARS AFTER

Summary/Abstract: The paper deals with reflects on the importance of the First Session of the National Anti-Fascist Council of National Liberation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (ZAVNOBiH) which was held on the 25th November,1943 in Mrkonjić Grad. At the first session of ZAVNOBiH adopted Resolution which was brought to life the statehood of Bosnia and Herzegovina and that Bosnia and Herzegovina was defined as a free country in which was guaranteed the equality of all Serbs, Muslims and Croats, and the equal status of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the Yugoslav state. The author deals with the need of cherishing the collective memory of this historically significant date for Bosnia and Herzegovina.
