Summary/Abstract: No-one rather doubts that contemporary constitutional (liberal) democracy has been experiencing a difficult time. It is because of its slow erosion and de-consolidation in many countries worldwide, mainly in Post-Communist and Latin American areas. This erosion has only one name: „autocracy”, and is almost a mythological struggle between „rule of many” and „rule of few”. Since XXth century totalitarian and authoritarian dictatorships, it was the only strategy which has been changed. It creates a tyranny, not against the masses, but with the masses as a low cost strategy of the ruling. Just for that reason, this phenomenon is exceptional because it is still usurpation of the power and lawlessness but less visible and less painful for the ordinary people. Unconditional social transfers are also at stake. This article proposes the theoretical model of this autocratic phenomenon. How to overcome this threat is a separate challenge.
