Summary/Abstract: The article describes the Felix Vodička’s concept of literary history again but as a way of rethinking the positivism in the literary theory. The relationship between structuralism and positivism in the field of literary history is analized not in terms of confrontation but of communication because every gesture of non-determinist mind includes the memory for determinism. The structuralist concept of literary history needs the positivistic point of view because of its own scientific identification.
