Summary/Abstract: From the linguistic point of view, the Far North of Cameroon is Africa in miniature. Three of the four language families documented in Africa are represented. Apart from English and French, the official languages, over 50 autochthons languages are spoken languages. The contact between these languages and the official languages of identity is enriching. This language contact, a manifestation as it is of intercultural dialogue, is apprehended among other through a set of loans. In this paper, we dwell on the relationship between autochthons’ languages and the relations established between the French and autochthons’ languages, including tupuri, fulfulde, massana, mundang and the kera.
