Summary/Abstract: Archaeological research at the Evangelical Church in Selistat was carried out asa result of the beginning of a restoration project with European funding and aimed atobtaining preliminary data on the church planimetry and its timeline. Archaeologicalresearch was the first archaeological approach of the fortified ecclesiasticalensemble, representing the first stage of archaeological research within therestoration project. The cemetery around the church that has at least two burialhorizons was mainly studied: one horizon before the sixteenth century, where thegraves are oriented to the west-east and a second, which has started from 16thcentury, with graves mostly orientated north-south. None of the graves hadinventory, which is why a tighter dating is difficult. From a stratigraphic point ofview, both funeral horizons follow the moment of church building.
