Summary/Abstract: The article is an attempt understand The Family – Antoni Słonimski’s last comedy as a satire on totalitarianism, both fascist and communist. The reflections enhance the author’s wit attacking the fascist concept of fascist and the communist idea of class purity.There is the story of Hans who turns out to be the son of a local Jew and communist Lebenbaum of aristocratic origin to show absurdity of captivating systems. One of the author’s conclusions is that the play also criticizes Pusudski’s flowers and offers an accurate reflection on Poland between the Two World Wars.
