Summary/Abstract: This article succeeds the one published in no. 23 of this review, moving away the analysis of postmodernism from its economic-social characteristics to the cultural ones. The author highlights the consequences, in the cultural field, of post-industrialism on the level, way and style of living, that is on what do the postmodernist concepts of “culture” and “civilization” mean. The author analyses the following attributive dimensions as identity characteristics of postmodern culture: mass culture as a dominant culture; the commercial status of culture; individuality; hedonism; breaking culture between the scientist-rationalist paradigm, on the one hand, and the non-scientist, dominantly non-rationalist (in the sense of the modernity concept), axiological, on the other hand; open, spontaneous, non-standardized culture; simultaneous global and globalized, but also pluralist and locally stiffed; quasi-nonideological, anti-utopist (pragmatic); ephemeral through continuous renovative reproduction.
