Summary/Abstract: Does memory mark testimony, truth or verisimilitude? In the work of At Zef Pllumi, memory is places alongside testimony or fiction, in the great challenge of providing a legible and a credible narration that wishes to be convincing. It is here that the rhetoric of literature, related to the attempt of convincing, comes into being. Thus, in his books of memoirs, Pllumi marks and offers his testimony on his life and the lives of Albanians during the black epoch of communist dictatorship, spanning over half a century. As a result, Pllumi's books of memory go beyond the field of fiction, all the while remaining related to it and signifying it, whereas the proposed term to mark it typologically is shkrimtaria which implies more than one genre. Therefore, Pllumi's work indicates an Albanian literary typology which requires it to be studies as such. Such designation transforms this work from a value into valuability, i.e. in a valuable work. Accordingly, all valuable works turn into classics.
