Summary/Abstract: The Homilies of the Epistle to the Philippians consist of an "argument" considered to be a first homily, followed by another fifteen homilies. The Homily I, whose translation follows this brief introduction, is highlighted, first of all, by gradual discursive development, starting with introductory comments and reaching ethical concerns. Last but not least, the homily contains certain textual indices that testify that it was spoken to the public.
