The Concept of Creating Subject and Its Features at L.E.J. Brouwer

Summary/Abstract: The aim of our article is to highlight the importance of the concept of “creating subject” for the general philosophical framework of Brouwer’s mathematical intuitionism. In fact, our hypothesis is that, in this case the philosophical and mathematical dimensions ask essentially the presence of the other, offering as such the specificity of Brouwerian subject. We will then proceed to an examination of what we have identified to be the characteristic features of the creating subject: effort, freedom, ideality, temporality, isolation.
