Youth on the labour market – selected aspects

Summary/Abstract: Searching for the way to effectively use available labor resources, especially young people, is one of the basic challenges in the 21st century. In recent years, in principle, regardless of cyclical changes, both the high level of unemployment as well as professional and educational passiveness among young people (the so-called NEET youth – Not in Education, Employment or Training) are maintained. The purpose of this article is to present the situation of young people on the labor market in Poland in 2004-2016. The critical analysis of the literature and the analysis of statistical data (desk research) from public statistics, primarily data from the European Statistical Office Eurostat and the Central Statistical Office (GUS), were used to achieve the goal adopted in the article.
