Summary/Abstract: The inspiration for the creation of this article is the 100th anniversary of the rebirth of independent Poland in memorable year 1918. The purpose of the author is to show the contribution of Redemptorists in the process of regaining sovereignty by Poles. Various activities have been discussed here: both missionary and retreat work on raising the moral life of the nation and strengthening its internal freedom of the spirit, as well as their patriotic and political moods in the face of geopolitical situation in Europe and their participation in battles on various fronts of the First World War with the blood tribute laid on the altar of an independent homeland. The source database, which was used in this article, are preserved chronicles and documents stored in the archives of the Congregation of the Most Holy Redeemer in Poland and Rome, as well as more important studies dealing with the following issue.
