Summary/Abstract: The article aims to show problem of New Kadampa Tradition. It’s possible to distinguish many different schools in Buddhism. One of them is Kadam school, created by an Indian monk Atisha, which achieved a great prosperity in the first decade of XII century, especially in the Tibet. Numerous schools, a great number of teachers, and also inevitable different understanding of its studies have led to conflicting reinterpretations and internal conflicts. Gaining from Atisha’s teachings, Geshe Kelsang Gyatso created his own school and organization – New Kadampa Tradition. Not only does this article focus on the history of the NKT, but also on numerous controversies arising, among others, from the fact that its followers have broken ties with Dalai Lama both in terms of his teaching and authority, as well as reprehensible practices against such followers.
