Summary/Abstract: The text attempts to view the present perspectives of philological education, reducing them to the prospects of comparative studies and translation. Moreover, it shows how today they are at the base of an attempt at rethinking the political and seeking connections between cultures which could dominate the future. In particular, the changed situations in the world and the humanities since11th September are considered. The trends in comparative literature at the moment and the possible directions in its future development are outlined. The Ideas of some leading comparativists are presented.
