From constitutionalism to the Treaty establishing a Constitution for Europe

Summary/Abstract: Constitutionalism as ideology and politics is instantiated through the Constitution and constitutionality. From the legal point of view alone, constitutions define democratic, liberal, progressive regimes as well as dictatorship and totalitarian regimes. Romania's desire to integrate into the UE finds its ideological, political and legal support in constitutionalism and the constitution corresponding to the transition stage which began in 1990.
