Summary/Abstract: The paper is on the recent political language with some examples from the Italian and Romanian politics. It is absolutely necessary from the very beginning to distinguish between „the political language” and „the language of the politicians”. If the first one is used by the researchers in the fields of the political science, history or philosophy and has a relatively formal character, with a largely specialized vocabulary and a certain tendency towards unambiguous semantics, the second one - the language generally used by the journalists and by the politicians when they talk about politics - can be called only in a very wide sense as a sectoral language, since it has a technical lexicon and is mostly related to the meaning given by the speaker.
