Summary/Abstract: The analysis of a play must combine both a research of the textual aspect, and one of the stage setting. The present paper identifies the changes that occur in the contemporary stage setting and the new types of staging. The analysis approaches theatricality and the various manners of stage settings, borderline techniques (such as dramatized reading, absence of staging and improvised staging), but also introductions of the audio-visual in the contemporary theatrical performance. Contemporaneity brings about various manners of staging, which combine interdisciplinary arts and innovate through unprecedented graphic and visual techniques.
