Summary/Abstract: The main aim of the study is to analyze the partial area of the security agenda of state that is overlapping societal and political security sectors. Threats and risks in these sectors are affecting the structure of each particular society in a different way. They are depending on the political, social, religious and cultural stratification, and ultimately relating to the identity of society as a formative element of internal and foreign policies. The text is focused on reference objects of societal security sector, mainly on small and larger groups and their demands. Addressing these needs is based on the possibilities of political sectors, which determines the objectives and instruments. The significance of these sectors and shift from a traditional security studies that have focused on military-political perception will be demonstrated in Slovak Republic as a case study, where the societal and political sector reflects the acuteness of one of the current threat - extremism, particularly extreme radicalism, that influences and relates to both sectors. As is impossible to stop this movement it is necessary for state to develop tools that will be able to control and direct it, because without control and guidance it could have a serious destructive effect on the state creating majorities.
