Healthcare system in Poland – selected issues

Summary/Abstract: The article provides an overview of the healthcare policy in Poland with particular emphasis on the health care. In the first section the author looks at the background information about tasks and aims of the healthcare system. In the second section he presents the facts about health of the Polish society and describes characteristics of six elements of the healthcare system, i.e. human resources, delivery of healthcare services, health information systems, access to medicines, financing, and leadership and governance.
