Summary/Abstract: The present study intends to approach Conrad's works from an psychoanalytical point of view. I have been trying to interpret a few Conradian novels and novellas psychoanalytically: Heart of Darkness, Lord Jim, The Secret Agent, Almayer's Folly, Nostromo, Chance and The Nigger of the Narcissus. I will refer in this study to Sigmund Freud and Carl Gustav Jung, by identifying instances of the theories belonging to them as applicable to Conrad's novels.
