The election of the candidates for the bishop-election 1941 in Kronstadt

Summary/Abstract: The contribution is the publication of a source on the context of the election of a new bishop for the evangelic church C.A. in Romania in early 1941. As first of three steps of the election, the parishes proposed three names of candidates to the district conventions. Using the example of Kronstadt (Brasov), the source sheds light on the conflicts between partisans of the pro-nazi german ethnic group in Romania, who tried to block the convention of the parish, and the opponents of national-socialist influence on ecclesiastical life, who were on the majority in Kronstadt.
