Summary/Abstract: Diabetes is the most common metabolic disease in the world, presenting in its evolution a series of disabling complications for the patient. Beyond the impact of the patient's diagnosis regarding this pathology, the decision to deal with the disease, to accept it and try to take all steps to adopt a healthy lifestyle lies with the patient. The aim of the study is to demonstrate the power of motivation in the decision to change lifestyle in diabetic patients. The study was retrospective on a group of 60 patients, of whom 32 patients were female and 28 were male. After 10 days of changing the diet and the daily patient’s program, their analyzes showed a decrease in glycemic values and an improvement in their symptomatology. In conclusion, the motivation of these patients is the key for therapeutic success. Patients must therefore be convinced that for a successful therapeutic outcome the active involvement of the patient in the healing act is necessary, because the work of the doctor would prove to be in vain if he struggled alone to ease the suffering of the patient.
