Summary/Abstract: Admired or contested, Pablo Neruda remains one of the greatest Latin American poets of all times. Wishing to make his poetry as large as life itself and to reflect the true nature of his native land, the writer always tried to multiply his means of expression, from his youth poems of (unrequited) love to the unexpected (almost baroque) composition of his mature volumes. The Nobel Prize that was awarded to him in 1973 sent the whole world a strong message about his creative force and versatility of expression.
