The reception of short novels by the authors of the new Spanish-American narrative in Hungary: some contributions

Summary/Abstract: Th is article examines the Hungarian reception of the short novels of Alejo Carpentier, Julio Cortázar, Mario Vargas Llosa, Gabriel García Márquez, Juan Rulfo, Juan Carlos Onetti and Carlos Fuentes, seven representative authors of the new Spanish-American narrative. Along with presenting the Hungarian editions of the short novels by the mentioned authors, the work has several aspects of quantitative as well as qualitative and comparative aspects of the subject, such as, for example, the critical reception of the Spanish-American short novel, the editorial policy before and after the change of regime (1989/1990) in Hungary del cambio de régimen (1989/1990) en Hungría or the difficulties related to the translation of these texts.
