Summary/Abstract: The text is occasioned by the passing into eternity of the painter Paul Gherasim (August 3, 2016). His life was led by three major existential landmarks: rustic Culture, true Painting and Church. And his love and respect for the ancient rustic culture was related to his love and respect for the Roma- nian language! He devoted the latter part of his life to highlighting of peasant culture and its Chris- tian structural constitution. He was born a painter. Paul Gherasim’s painting is like a mist. Of full transparency. A veil. Perfect for gentle sky and serene sea, for apple flowers and nature in evapora- tion. The Prologue probably remains his highest accomplishment. Many were the artistic gather- ings and groups in the history of our art visual artistic. But though none and none had naturalness, genuitatea, subtlety, simplicity and charm of evergreen Prologue. None though seamed to have the naturalness, genuineness, subtlety, simplicity and standing charm as the Prologue. Gherasim Paul’s relationship with the Church must have been old, but since I was more around, I know he was very attached to Stavropoleos. He had a prime role in the revival of the monastery since December 1989. He supported the return to the Psaltic music at Stavropoleos. He was a tireless isokratis in the pio- neering chanting group that was formed there in the early 90s.
