Summary/Abstract: The article proposes an investigation of the sculptural forms made by Constantin Brâncuşi, from the perspective of their location under the auspices of the Fundamental Elements, the construction of the World. Brâncuşi was to be the first modern artist of the twentieth century who deliberately renounced at the clay and clay molding, using the millenary technique of direct carving from antiquity, with the clear desire to bring out light from the mineral, tellurian mass, the essential forms that, he says, are waiting to be brought to light. Made by stone, marble, metal or wood, Brâncuşi's works are the manifestation of the essentialisation of the spiritualized form, according to the artist's inner necessity. His sculpture, profoundly human, will open the way of spiritualizing of the volumetric forms, conferring to the original minerality, that nobility that raises it to the sublime.
