Summary/Abstract: The aim of this article is to represent the results of purposive survey questionnaires for foreign students. The results of the survey show whether the students understand the meaning of the so-called new idioms in Bulgarian. Idioms are an important part of everyday Bulgarian. They come up all the time in both written and spoken language. Idioms don’t always make sense literally and students will need to familiarize themselves with the meaning and usage of each idiom. The most important methodological procedure is to provide idioms in context, so students can fully understand the meaning.
