Summary/Abstract: Aristotle wrote about the divisions into which all speeches should be separated. The number of the divisions varies in different works, but the most important parts are exordium, narration, confirmation, peroration. The exordium in the religious discourse is an oration that draws believers into the speech, the priest would introduce the religious subject and include ideas created to make the listeners receptive to the argument. The narration would offer religious background material on the case at hand by describing a certain moral problem. The confirmation consists of reasons, details and examples from the Bible in support of those ideas presented in narration. The peroration is the concluding part of a rhetorical discourse and it would draw together the entire argument and include words designed to persuade the believers in order to act in a way consonant with Bible's meanings. The religious discourse respects these four classical divisions.
