Summary/Abstract: Subject, purpose of work. Some theoretical and practical aspects of the strategic management of dairy processing enterprises are investigated in the article. The assessment of the current state of development of enterprises in the dairy industry carried out. The comparison of methodological principles of operational and strategic management of business subjects of the industry has been made. The main components of the strategic management of dairy companies are grounded. Method or methodology of work. The combination of the following methods and techniques of scientific knowledge were used in the implementation of scientific research: abstract logical (in the formation of the logical-structural scheme of the process of strategic management, monographic and economic-statistical (in assessing the current state of development of the milk processing industry), methods of analysis and synthesis (when formalizing and assessing the impact of factors on the process of strategic management), the method of scientific comparison. The result of work. The results of the study proved that in the face of increasing competition and increasing risks in the economic environment, the management process of dairy processing enterprises should be guided by a strategic perspective. The strategic management should be considered in close connection with the potential of the company, external and internal factors, the totality of the functional objectives of the business entity. Analysis of the current state of development of the dairy industry in Ukraine showed that there is a significant production potential, along with the existing imbalance of internal trends in the functioning of the industry. The achievement of significant success in the dairy products market today is impossible without the implementation of the principles of strategic management in the activities of milk processing companies. According to the results of studies of the systemic advantages of strategically oriented business structures, the stages and the main components of the strategic management process of modern dairy processing enterprises have been substantiated. The field of results application. The obtained results can be applied in the justification and implementation of the strategic objectives of the management of enterprises in the dairy industry of the agro-industrial complex. Conclusions. The modern methodological approaches to the essence of strategic management today demonstrate the lack of a unified concept to substantiate the process of strategic management of business entities. The basic aspects of strategic management today should be: originality and diversification of supply in the market; maximizing the market value of the business; ensuring a synergistic management effect; adaptability and effectiveness of the management process. Comparison of operational and strategic management indicates a significant potential for improving the effectiveness of management in the context of the implementation of strategic approaches to the management process of dairy processing enterprises.
