Summary/Abstract: This study analyzes the way in which the erotic poetry of Mircea Cartarescu, the poet, reveals another type of intimacy: the place of the ideal woman is now taken by a dull, common young woman, wearing excessive make-up or, on the contrary, by a "withered" housewife, irreversibly anchored into the mediocrity of daily routine. The projective image of the body mingles to the extreme limit with other objects and things, thus eliciting an obsessive reality in which love makes the ordinary become acceptable. What is missing is the ecstatic dimension of the Eros, the sexual intercourses that we witness instead trigger animal ‒ like visions, which paradoxically can be subscribed to normality. The human and the artificial are equally suffering from the quotidian's aggressions.
