Summary/Abstract: Abstract To a lesser extent some Eminescian critics highlighted a certain connection between time and space in Eminescu's work. In this context, Rosa del Conte rightly remarked his mystical rationalism, and hence his metaphysical longing as a continuous projection of a specific ontological idealism. Quite firmly, perhaps too categorically, Ioana Em. Petrescu delimitated the equinoxial, primordial time from the solstitial one, that of the permanent fall.... Nowadays, a literary critic like I. Boldea takes into consideration the connection/ coagulation of the two notions, those of the space / time categories, and initiates a (poetic) space-time continuum, providing pertinent arguments in this regard. In our opinion, this positive, spatio-temporal hybridization also belongs to the gap between metaphor, as the vehicle of the imagtinary, and metaphysics, as an idealistic philosophy that the writer was also concerned about. This determines him to deal with, to a larger extent (some speculate very much), the current theories of time as the fourth dimension and extended relativity (e.g. Einstein, Hawking). Such things are found at the ,,microscopic" and ,,macroscopic" view, genetic and intertextual level, precisely in the poetry and prose of Eminescu's genius..
