Summary/Abstract: The best known nuclear track detectors are cellulose nitrate films (LR-115 and CN-85, manufactured by Kodak-Pathé, France), polycarbonate (Makrofol, produced by BayerAG, Germany, and Lexan, produced by General Electric Co., USA), and allyl diglycol carbonate (CR-39, produced by American Acrylics and Plastics, USA). These detectors are completely insensitive to β-particles and γ-rays because higher energy is required to create a mark on the detector film.
