Summary/Abstract: Radon is a natural radioactive element that is colorless, odorless and tasteless. Because radon is a gas it moves easily and because it is colorless, odorless and tasteless it is practically invisible which makes it difficult to detect without the use of special apparatus. Important international scientific organizations have classified radon as acarcinogenic and a serious health issue. As a chemically inert gas, it easily passes (emanates) from soil, building materials, and water into the atmosphere.
