Summary/Abstract: Culture is complex and it works in modern society as an umbrella term (Willis 2000: XX). In this paper we try to show its multidimensionality, i.e. multidisciplinarity, pointing the tangible points between culture and knowledge, as well as the relation between knowledge and power. The transmission of knowledge is associated with commu-nication and culture is considered as a communication phenomenon. In the books of several theoreticians (Francis Bacon, Michel Foucault, Jean-François Lyotard), the articulation of knowledge and power through discourse is perceived. In this paper the relation between knowledge and power is perceived through the management and functioning of the institutions. We agree with Tissen et al. that the thesis "knowledge is power" for the advancement of individu-als should be replaced by the thesis "power is in the exchange of knowledge", which achieve the success of the entire organizations and the society at whole.
