Summary/Abstract: Culture is one of the most important characteristics of humans and society in general and can be expressed only if it is researched in the context of the social environment and in their mutual interaction. In this paper we see a number of definitions of culture and its creative and reproductive dimensions. We consider culture as a social phenomenon and given its stratification and class determination, we convey its importance in terms of cultural studies, analyzing the most important authors in this interdisciplinary field (R. Williams, S. Hall, R. Johnson, J. McGuigan, J. Fisk et al.). Cultural studies define "ordinary culture" as a scene of political struggle over meanings, attitudes, and values. Cultural products are not a reflection or consequence of a certain social structure, but they participate in its creation and duration through everyday use.
