Portable computer devices (laptops) – characteristic of electromagnetic field in their vicinty

Summary/Abstract: Electromagnetic field emitted by laptops, were characterised. Computer devices are sources of complex electromagnetic field of frequency till several GHz. Assessment of electromagnetic hazards in working space near above mentioned computer devices do not need individual compliance of the level of electromagnetic exposure level with the limits provided with respect to protection of workers against electromagnetic hazards – in the case of the use of devices removed at less 20 cm from body’s operator. Results of numerical calculation of SAR ratio in virtual women model’s shown in fact higher level of electromagnetic risk while using laptop close to the body than while using laptop in longer distance. During the use of preventive measures for limitation of electromagnetic risks also conditions of the use of portable computer device according to ergonomic requirements should be assured.
