Summary/Abstract: A Greek scholar by the name of Mihail Schendo said about Prince Cantemir: “He was loved by muses, valued by educated people and honored by emperors.” We, the professors and students of the university that bears his name have the duty to know and to understand his work. The present study reveals the way the legal proceedings were conducted in the Romanian customary law, using as an inspiration point the work entitled “The Description of Moldavia”.
