Summary/Abstract: The study proves the self-esteem of the free game of children by offering a theoretical analysis and introducing an author’s assessment of its manifestation in the basic game types. The main thesis is focused on defining the pedagogical imitation of the game, as well as analyzing the consequences of the paradoxical replacement of the free game of children with its corresponding pedagogical imitation. The focus is placed on hard to measure harms for the child together with losses for the teacher gained by missed opportunities for play-learning as an independent child activity and as a pedagogical paradigm for learning.
