Wystawianie modernizmu. Uwagi o Montażach wobec stulecia awangardy w Polsce
Exhibition of modernism. Notes on the Montages in the face of a century of avant-garde in Poland

Summary/Abstract: This essay poses questions regarding strategies, stakes and archaeology of presentation of the Polish modernism in visual arts. The Montaże. Debora Vogel i nowa legenda miasta. (Montages. Debora Vogel and the New Legend of the City) (Museum of Art in Łódź), which is an attempt to show the Lviv-based Polish-Jewish artistic milieu. Nevertheless, the text does not fit the narrow framework of artistic criticism (review of the exhibition), but it places the exhibition in a wider perspective of demonstrating modernism both in discourse and, most of all, in the museum space, with both these plains being regarded as complementary methods of knowledge creation.
