The research has the purpose to clarify a few existentialistic hypostasis found in ascending of the human being to Redemption. Is the love towards God necessary in our struggle with passions? Could we reach resemblance with God without loving God or loving the others? Is love an essential condition for our Redemption? The present article answers the questions above by referring to the following theological works of Father Dumitru Staniloae, works having the theme of the divine love: The Ascetic and Mystic of the Orthodox Church, The Holy Trinity or at the Beginning There Was Love, Jesus Christ and the Restoration of Man, The Eternal Image of God and Orthodox Dogmatic Theology.
