Gravity of Gestures in Child Communication with Complex Communication Needs

Summary/Abstract: The work deals with the issue of gestures ritual in child communication with complex communication needs. It shows what a ritual is, a gesture is described as a natural element of the everyday communication process. It indicates the supportive and alternative ways of communication. The Makaton program is described,in which a system of manual characters facilitates people with complex communication needs to communicate effectively and learn speech and language. It has been pointed out that teacher-child interactions are an important element of ritualization.
