Summary/Abstract: Manichaeism is a religion found by Mani (216 – 276) in the 3rd Century Sassianan Kingdom. Altough its disciples had difficulties on every period and all geographies, this religion continued and spread over a wide geography after Mani’s death and continued its existence until the end of the 17th Century. The founder of this religion is Mani, who is an artist and known for depicting religious books. Mani religion was accepted as official religion by Uighur Khan Bögü in 763 and the monks, who followed Mani’s footsteps and produced artworks in the lands of Uyghur, experienced the most brilliant period of Uighur art and cultural life in Kansu, Turfan, Karaşahr, Koç and Hotan.
