Summary/Abstract: The Brukenthal Library is in possession of a collection of 222 restaurant menus from different cities in Romania, Italy, Austria, and Hungary, from the period between May 11, 1917 and April 9, 1948. These menus were carefully collected and preserved by Colonel Josef Dombora from Sibiu, who donated them to the library on June 15, 1948. Dombora, nowadays almost unknown, is the author of a pamphlet of tables of the shooting positions, published in Sibiu in 1907, when he was only a lieutenant. The menus were kept as loose sheets, have different sizes and were printed in various presses. They include copies of coats of arms, but also commercials, the latter printed black and white or blue and white. On the other hand, imitating the oldest printed books, some menus were printed in black and red ink.
