Summary/Abstract: The post-conflict rehabilitation/reconstruction processes have become one of the crucial challenges for the international security in the post-Cold War. Ethnic or religious conflicts, transnational terrorism, all have become sources of unrest for regional and international security. This paper presents some of the definitions of the post-conflict reconstruction process (PCR), as well some of its main elements> the re-establishment of security and stability (including the need to accomplish the security sector reform), justice and reconciliation, the reinstatement of political authority and last, but not least, the economic reconstruction of the society.
