International Seminar: “How can the Black Sea Region contribute to improved global security?” 7-9 June 2007 – Bucharest, Romania

Summary/Abstract: The international seminar has been organized under the aegis of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Romania, the Royal Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Norway and EURISC Foundation – Romania. The seminar contained two plenary sessions and working-group sessions. The first plenary session, entitled “Major challenges to security in the Black Sea region” had the role of trying to draft a comprehensive assessment of the Black Sea region security and political environment, focused on security threats and opportunities (both political and economic) and also on risks (both conventional and non-conventional) related to weapons of mass destruction and security energy issues.
